Acentra is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Director to join our growing team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team, ensuring the quality of deliverables, customer relationships, test execution, and strategy with minimal supervision.
  • Oversee the entire SQA process, using metrics to guide decisions and providing executive dashboards for projects and releases.
  • Develop and implement strategic direction for SQA across programs, focusing on managing resources, cost, risk, and scope.
  • Ensure the creation of traceable test plans and scripts, leveraging tools and best practices to improve quality and enforce process improvements.
  • Lead and refine the SQA program with a focus on automation, ensuring team adherence to established controls, standards, and methodologies.
  • Approve requirements, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and financial risks, and implement mitigation plans as necessary.
  • Manage risks, ensure proper mitigation plans, and communicate effectively with both customers and internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Encourage innovation within the SQA process, maintaining alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Oversee vendor management, performance evaluations, and budget forecasts, ensuring all actions align with the corporate IT vendor management program.
  • Interface with senior management, providing industry insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and strategic direction.
  • Lead transformation and change management initiatives related to SQA, while communicating clear vision and goals for the team.
  • Direct resources (people, budgets, technology) and provide mentorship to the SQA team, fostering a culture of continuous development and knowledge sharing.
  • Recruit, train, and develop highly skilled team members, conducting performance reviews and setting SMART goals to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships, ensuring operational excellence and delivering customer-facing presentations on quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with CMMI standards and participate in related evaluations.
  • Stay abreast and informed on new cutting edge technologies and market trends, ensuring the SQA team stays current with best practices.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a minimum of 10 - 12 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including 5+ years in technical leadership roles at large, complex organizations, managing centralized or matrixed teams.
  • Proven experience in test automation, preferably with Selenium, and hands-on experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance tools, such as Atlassian Jira, Jenkins, and HP Quality Center.
  • Experience leading multiple managers and teams, with demonstrated ability to meet department goals through effective people management.
  • Expertise in formulating, designing, and implementing QA methodologies for both waterfall and agile (Scrum, Kanban) software development life cycles.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to executives.
  • Strong client management and negotiation skills, with experience evaluating new prospects and opportunities (e.g., RFP responses, estimation, scheduling).
  • Must have experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and industry Software Quality Assurance standards.
  • Ability to manage people, projects, and budgets, while overseeing administrative tasks and maintaining cost efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external partners to implement major initiatives.
  • Expertise in ITIL and CMMI process models, with a deep understanding of relevant trends and issues.
  • Seasoned experience in technology leadership roles, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and make a strategic impact on processes.
  • Project management skills with experience in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and a proven ability to create, manage, and execute project plans.
  • Strong domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare verticals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and lead research initiatives.
  • Proficient in data analytics tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Cognos Analytics, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
  • Test Manager Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools like SharePoint, Webex, and Skype.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is 160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year.

Based on our compensation program, an applicant’s position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
