After leaving an intense finance career, she became inspired to live a more balanced lifestyle and revisit her Japanese roots and passion for herbal medicine. Shizu set out to help others regain their holistic health using traditions she grew up with and ones she learned along the way.

The Role:
The primary function of the role is to manage Apothékary’s retail and exc-DTC sales by growing key partners, identifying new business opportunities, acquiring new customers and partnering with + educating existing customers via marketing and sales strategy. Being energetic, well-spoken and eager to close sales and increase revenue is an essential part of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sales / wholesale channel to generate significant revenue while maintaining company and channel profitability
- Manage Key Partners inclusive of Whole Foods, Sprouts, Amazon, and Ulta Beauty
- Manage profit and loss statements for retail and ecommerce, channels: natural, grocery, mass
- Track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
- Secure new key accounts and expand into new channels: practitioner, independent, hospitality
- Prospect and build a pipeline of potential accounts and leads inclusive of retail and ecommerce partners
- Manage calls and emails to current and potential clients.
- Partner closely with current accounts on a store by store level to grow velocity on shelf
- Train store staff in person or via zoom, demo product and visit stores with Apothékary on shelf
- Create sales campaigns and track performance + success rates
- Analyze sales messaging to improve client conversion and increase revenue
- Analyze and upsell existing accounts based on customer buying history; suggest related and new products; explain technical features based on customer-identified needs
- Analyze and summarize competitor information and trends to identify new sales opportunities
- Promote the Company’s Mission and Values, including an accountable, innovative and results-oriented culture that promotes customer service, openness, teamwork, mutual trust and respect
- Develop a professionals affiliate network across nutritionists, dietitians, acupuncturists, and herbalists to build a best-in-class sales and marketing team, while supporting affiliates with monthly education and product briefs
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design compelling campaigns that resonate with target businesses.
- Prospect new business and identify competitive advantages within the clean beauty and wellness categories
- Work with Creative team to conceptualize a retailer display that provides point of sale (POS) education that supports high conversion at retailers
- Travel as needed to meet with clients, attend and host at industry events, and nurture relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible sales experience in the consumer goods or supplement industry.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth, especially within natural and specialty retail chains
- Strong leadership skills with a history of managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for contributing to a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Willingness to adapt, learn, and thrive in a rapidly changing industry.
- Availability for travel as required.
