Location: Remote OK (If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work 2 days on-site)

Salary:  $180K - $200K/yr d.o.e.

We are looking for a Director of Product Management to take on the challenge of managing and scaling a talented team of high-performance Product Managers and Owners. This team is chartered with partnering, supporting and driving product discovery and development initiatives with our Product Management and Engineering partners. You will be expected to drive cross-functional collaboration with our Product Management and Engineering teams while also working on a day-to-day basis to support and level-up designers on the team. You will wear the hats of being a mentor, leader, user-experience expert, and project manager. This role is a people leader who is adept at coaching Product Managers and Product Owners and helping them set Vision, Build Roadmaps, and strong Value Propositions for their products.  This person will help improve product alignment strategy across the company and to quickly generate value through the product and business lifecycle. There are three main components to the role: providing clear product strategy, growing and leading exceptional teams, and driving organizational focus and alignment on priorities. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire. As a leader, your primary objective is to develop your team of product manager and product owners, both as individuals and as a team. You will help them find their career path and create opportunities for them to grow. You will also be responsible for taking company and marketing objectives and translating them into a vision and objectives relatable and inspiring to a team of designers.
  • Coach. You will provide mentorship and coaching to develop product team in all areas of the craft of product management and execution, including Research, Product Strategy, Roadmapping, Product Analytics, Execution & Partnership with Engineering teams.
  • Project Manage. You will closely collaborate with stakeholders to understand project needs, break down and scope projects, plan team capacity, and prioritize commitments. You will be accountable for project success (timeliness and quality), while also ensuring the health of the team.
  • Measure success. You will help the team understand and measure success by helping them understand business requirements, identify design goals, as well as finding ways for the team to realize and see the results of designs they produce.
  • If you see it, solve it. Be a self-starter, if you see a problem beyond your immediate responsibilities, work to help solve it. Be willing to drive forward with ambiguity and multiple priorities, planning effectively and handling iterative change.
  • Grow to understand the company value stream as well as company’s consumers, partners, internal teams, competitors, and market.
  • Manage multiple priorities, scale teams, and ensure the org is effective, healthy, and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals and holding people and teams accountable.
  • Strong familiarity with multiple prioritization frameworks (WSJF, RICE, etc) and comfortable leveraging data to support prioritization.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Qualifications

    • At least 10 years of experience in product management. 
    • 5+ years or more of leadership experience leading product teams (Product Managers AND Product Owners). 
    • Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks including SCRUM, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Frameworks
    • Experience and confidence presenting to senior and executive leadership.
    • Experience partnering with multiple teams across the organization driving mindful discussions that lead to agreement, crisp decisions, and results.
    • Great people skills in combination with great assertiveness. 
    • Strong analytical, strategic, and coordination skills. 
    • Leadership and entrepreneurship traits that people are comfortable following. 
    • High-level motivational skills for the management of virtual teams. 
    • Ability to interprets results through multiple lenses (e.g. qualitative, financial, and long-term strategic value) to provide a recommendation.
    • Knowledge in the mortgage and/or real estate industry is required.
    • Knowledge in building B2B solutions (especially for the Mortgage/Real Estate industry)
