About the Role:

As the Director of Customer Payment Strategy, you will set strategy and oversee and manage all aspects of payment processing strategy, ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, security, and compliance. You will drive process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance our payment processing capabilities, to best serve our members. We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong track record of improving and managing payment strategy. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is driven by the opportunity to lead a functional area. This role requires experience in managing the underlying payment activities for card products.

This position reports to our VP of Accounting, Finance & Treasury, Corporate Controller and is can be fully remote from the U.S. states where IPSY hires (see application). 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop a short and long-term payment strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Identify and lead the implementation of industry-leading payment solutions that enhance customer experience, reduce costs, and drive revenue growth.
  • Oversee the strategy of the payment processing, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Analyze payment processing data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize payment processing efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including PCI DSS.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve customer experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements in payment processing.
  • Serve as the internal lead for implementing new payment products and related processes.
  • Lead the strategic aspects of the Card Services processing activities.
  • Work with partners (card networks, processors, and banks), partner dealers, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues detected with the company’s merchant processor programs and payment activities.
  • Research and identify additional payment products to augment the company’s overall products and services.
  • Provide standardized metrics and reporting to the executive management team regarding the performance of the company’s payment products.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in payment processing or financial operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of payment processing systems, different payment methods, payment messaging, payment routing, and industry regulations.
  • Well-rounded understanding of compliance and risks surrounding payment products.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross departmental teams.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.

Bonus if You Have:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience implementing payment processing software and technologies.
  • Knowledge of emerging payment trends and innovations.

Pay is based on several non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. IPSY offers a bonus, equity grants, and competitive benefits. Final compensation is determined by experience and skills.

Salary Range:$130,000—$183,000 USD Apply
