What you will be doing:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) in healthcare med/surg manufacturing, marketing, and sales to provide strategic leadership and data-driven guidance for our clients. This position is primarily focused on delivering expert-level consulting services, leveraging advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to drive client success, and providing leadership across all stages of consulting projects. The Director will focus on offering deep insights and expert-level consulting services to med/surg manufacturers, helping them navigate the complexities of product development, marketing strategies, and sales optimization within the healthcare industry. This position will collaborate with and develop strong client relationships across all levels of the client organization including marketing, sales, national accounts reps, and supply chain, while utilizing GPO resources and patient outcomes data to drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1 (Insight Generation -> Strategic Consulting) – 80%

  • Provide strategic consulting services to med/surg manufacturers on product development, market positioning, and go-to-market strategies within the healthcare sector, leveraging GPO resources including performance groups, clinical experts, and value analysis professionals.

  • Determine client needs by effectively leading client interviews and utilizing various tools and analytical methods.

  • Navigate and analyze pre-built dashboards, web applications, and data models to extract meaningful insights for strategic decision-making.

  • Execute/direct/oversee complex data analyses using advanced analytical tools and business intelligence platforms (such as Tableau and Power BI), initiate interpretations and conclusions, and oversee verbal and graphic presentations, using methods that are professionally sound and efficient relative to project objectives and conform to standards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through strategic alignment and integration of insights across different departments.

  • Utilize patient outcomes and hospital performance data to support health economics analyses and product differentiation.

  • Summarize findings in a coherent manner and draws insight from observations, interviews and data analyses.

Responsibility #2 (Project Management -> Organizational Influence) – 15%

  • Manage multiple workstreams while ensuring alignment with client goals and internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, and supply chain departments.

  • Leverage understanding of internal dynamics at medical device organizations to drive growth initiatives.

  • Perform quality assurance on project deliverables.

Responsibility #3 (Continuous Improvement) – 5%

  • Collaborate with Premier engineering, technical product, research, and sales teams to contribute to the continuous improvement of the solution’s data, technology, and services.

  • Aid in developing training materials for the practice in areas of their expertise, including advanced analytics and business intelligence tools.

  • Complete all required training requirements on an annual basis.

Skills:

  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) and Excel for ad hoc analysis

  • Experience in healthcare med/surg manufacturing, marketing, and sales, with a deep understanding of industry dynamics, customer behavior, and sales cycle management

  • Strong consulting capabilities with proven ability to guide medical device clients in leveraging insights for strategic decision-making

  • Expertise in utilizing GPO resources and interpreting patient outcomes and hospital performance data

  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams

  • Comprehensive understanding of internal medical device organization dynamics

  • Ability to relate to clients and team members in an effective and collaborative manner

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights and strategies to various stakeholders

  • Strong strategic alignment capabilities for integrating insights across departments

Experience:

  • Med/Surg Manufacturer Sales, Marketing, Research, Data Analysis · Proven experience with business intelligence tools and complex dashboards

  • Experience working with health economics and outcomes research professionals

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple project workstreams

  • Track record of successful collaboration with GPO resources and strategic stakeholders

Education:

  • Master’s degree

Working Conditions: Remote


 

Travel Requirements: Travel 41-60% within the US


 

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


 

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $99,000 - $185,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
