Director, Market Risk

What You'll Do:
Direct the team responsible for analyzing market risk exposures for all products and accounts cleared by OCC or part of an OCC supported process (i.e. cross-margin). Analysis will be performed using proprietary OCC tools/applications. Products include equities, government securities, options, futures options, and futures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
Direct the team responsible for monitoring market risk within Clearing Member portfolios with exposure to changes to underlying prices, implied volatility, dividends and interest rates.
Assist the team in monitoring major market events such as Earnings announcements and key Economic announcements.
Direct the team to create a suite of reports for senior management analyzing clearing member trading positions, margins, trading trends, margin calls, and other key risk indicators.
Provide support and analysis as it relates to policy and procedure writing.
Assist in maintaining relationships with external liquidation agents, default management committees, auction participants, and other clearinghouses.
Analyze portfolios for sensitivity to risk factors and identify hedging strategies.
Assist in liquidation of portfolios during a Clearing Member default and subsequent reporting.
Direct documentation of new or enhancing existing policies and procedures as needed.
Serve as a resource to counterparts and other OCC departments with problem resolution and departmental policy, procedure and process explanation.
Interact with internal and external auditors, compliance professionals and regulators during exams, audits and reviews.
Represent Financial Risk Management on corporate projects and new system development.
Direct and approve the writing of memos for Risk Committee and Board Meetings.
Direct team(s) to prioritize, assign and review departmental assignments.
Will be responsible for directing and supporting the mentoring of team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role will manage a team within Market Risk and Default Management (“MRDM”) to ensure department policies, procedures, and controls are followed and updated as needed to perform monitoring activities in an effective and efficient basis.

Technical Skills and Background
[Required] Microsoft Office desktop tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
[Preferred] Coding or query experience
[Preferred] Experience with Bloomberg Terminal (not API)
[Required] Experience with SQL or other database query languages
[Required] Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools

Education and Training
[Required] Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management or related field
[Preferred] MBA or similar MS degree, or progress towards an advanced degree

Compensation
- The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
- In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.

- All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
Salary Range
$191,900.00 - $262,600.00Incentive Range
23% to 30%This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
