The Director of Enterprise Leadership Development is responsible for designing, implementing and managing comprehensive leadership development programs aimed at fostering the growth and effectiveness of employees and leaders within Otsuka.  Some of the portfolio of may include approaches based on level, skill, capability, and acting as consultant within the enterprise leadership development center of excellence.  This role will support adhoc and/or other initiatives aligned to talent programs and support. 

 Focus is primarily US in scope and advisory for global markets, with potential for expanding scope beyond US, including the Global e-learning committee through Japan.  This role may have people leadership responsibilities directly and/or indirectly. The Director of Leadership Development sits within the Talent Management function and will support and lead initiatives to identify, develop and execute strategic partnerships, alliances, and business opportunities to enhance the enterprise’s market presence in alignment with Otsuka Pharmaceuticals competency model, Diversity Inclusion, and Equity initiatives, and career framework for advancement.

Job Description

  • Responsible for supporting the design and maintenance of leadership programs, including integration into all relevant people practices and processes. Ability to partner with other members of the Talent COE including the competency model and performance to design, develop, and integrate with leadership development programs and initiatives, mentoring, succession, and other.
  • Responsible for collaborating with the business and HR business partners to ensure understanding of business operations, strategy, and priorities, and develop/identify assessment solutions to meet business needs. 
  • Partner with change and comms teams to ensure effective, integrated approach to communication.  
  • Drive adoption and effective use of development programs and trainings, including creating/identifying/evaluating development programs/trainings, implementing, and supporting those programs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and academic institutions to enhance leadership development offerings.
  • Ensure all leadership development is used in accordance with the law and best practice for the use of growth and development needs, and to minimize bias.
  • Ensure approaches to development have positive stakeholder experiences (candidates/employees, managers, HRBP/TA) and leverage new technologies and approaches. Partner with legal, privacy, analytics, TA, and HRBPs on approaches as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess leadership development needs and prioritize initiatives. Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure development strategies and practices integrate with current and future HR technology platforms and systems from a practical usability perspective.
  • Stay abreast of external trends, best practices, and innovations to continue to advance internal practices and approach.
  • Manage budgets and partner with talent leaders within the team to understand return and impact of enterprise development initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and networking events to promote brand awareness and foster relationships as needed. 
  • Monitor performance and effectiveness of programs and trainings, including defined KPIs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4 years related experience within Human Resources, training, and/or leadership development or talent management.   
  • Proven track record of designing, developing, implementing, and managing leadership development programs within a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Experience shaping integrated HR solutions through partnership with others
  • Project management experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, partnership, facilitation, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Have intellectual curiosity, sense of urgency and ability to work independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including senior level leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage a budget, work with vendors, and analyze data and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Strong program management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Bachelors degree

Preferred:

  • Development program experience or exposure strongly preferred
  • People management experience

Minimum $179,721.00 - Maximum $268,755.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
