THE ROLE
Zeta is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Event Programming to shape and lead the programming strategy for Zeta’s premier annual conference, Zeta Live, as well as smaller Proprietary thought-leadership events and Industry Conferences throughout the year. This individual will play a crucial role in programming content that resonates with executives and thought leaders across the martech and adtech industries.
Position Overview:
As the Director, Event Programming you will be responsible for researching and securing senior-level executives, well-known keynote speakers and thought leaders across industries. The role will be pivotal in driving content strategy and ensuring Zeta’s proprietary events and industry event participation offers cutting-edge insights on the future of marketing. You will collaborate closely with Zeta’s internal teams including marketing, sales, content and senior leadership to create compelling programming that enhances the overall event experience and delivers value to our clients and prospects.
Responsibilities:
- Speaker Sourcing & Engagement: Identify, research, and secure top-tier speakers from brands and agencies across various sectors. Engage with senior-level executives, innovators, and thought leaders to ensure content reflects the latest trends, solutions, and insights shaping the marketing technology landscape.
- : Lead day-to-day communications with speakers, managing outreach, booking, and logistics [including travel] when needed. Ensure all speaker-related communications are handled smoothly, including drafting preparatory documents (bios, questions, session descriptions) and tracking speaker commitments.
- Event Content Creation: Develop and edit detailed event schedules (ROS), agendas, session titles and abstracts, and program copy that align with Zeta’s brand and event objectives. Work with speakers to craft engaging session topics and on-stage dialogues that resonate with the conference audience.
- Executive & Sales Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Zeta’s internal teams to align on programming vision and ensure the event content reflects Zeta’s key initiatives and values. Manage the creation of session materials, including speaker prep documents, program intros, questions, and key talking points.
- On-Stage Moderator and Speaker Collaboration: Coordinate with interviewers and moderators to draft scripts, outlines, and preparatory materials for on-stage conversations, panel discussions, and interviews. Ensure smooth transitions and engaging interactions between moderators and speakers during live events.
- Digital Content Integration: Source and curate relevant digital assets (images, videos, case studies) to enhance live event programming and on-stage discussions. Utilize these assets to provide context and deepen the audience’s understanding of session topics.
- Event Script Development: Write, edit, and update event scripts, including VOGs, welcome remarks, session transitions, closing statements, and other event elements, ensuring a seamless flow of content throughout the event.
- Speakers Bureau Management: Maintain and regularly update Zeta’s Speaker Directory (including Zeta SME’s), tracking speaker engagements, contact details, and areas of expertise to ensure a curated, easily accessible database of potential speakers for future events.
- Speakership Opportunities: Pitch Zeta SME’s to speak at Industry Conferences to position Zeta as thought leader in the marketplace.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in event programming and speaker management. Experience in martech, media, or tech-driven industry strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in managing multiple content tracks and curating speaker lineups for large-scale, high-profile conferences. Experience working directly with senior executives to align programming with business goals and audience needs.
- Established network of Executive leaders and influencers. Ability to leverage relationships to secure high-profile speakers and thought leaders for Zeta’s events.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with senior executives, internal stakeholders, external partners, and speakers. Strong presentation and writing skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with martech tools, content management systems, and event management software. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite is required; familiarity with other digital tools is a plus.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to create compelling, strategic content for conferences that will captivate audiences and drive engagement.

SALARY RANGE
The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000.00, depending on location and experience.
