Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.
Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.
Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary
Direct a group of 60+ associates to provide strategic leadership and direction for activities required to plan and execute all aspects of environmental and regulatory requirements in support of the Utility including Projects & Construction, Electric and Gas Operation, Gas Construction, Centralized Services and Power's ISRA Program, including PSE&S's investment recovery program. Ensure effective adherence to corporate and regulatory policies, regulations and standards for the various Lines of Business within the Utility. Develop and lead programs to manage the teams $120M in annual spend and $3.0M O&M budget. This includes internal milestones, cost saving tracking, goal setting, contract management and procurement interface. Interface and build/maintain relationships with state, federal, and local regulators to advance PSE&G’s environmental policy objectives. Regularly interface with Senior Leadership of regulatory agencies including federal, State, regional and local officials (i.e. Commissioner\Asst. Commissioner NJDEP, Department of Interior Secretary's Office) to negotiate permit conditions and gain approvals necessary to execute the P&C and Utility projects. Interface with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders (internal and external) to discuss key issues related to the approval and compliance process.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct, develop and implement strategies and practices to ensure environmental compliance across PSE&G in support of PSEG's business interests. Evaluate impacts of changes to regulations and legislation at the federal and state level, both from an operational and cost perspective as well as present any changes to senior leadership.
- Develop and implement strategic objectives and support for all Utility wide construction projects, as well as support any future growth opportunities. Provide direction and leadership from a regulatory perspective to focus on efforts on achieving company and business goals. Monitor, review and provide guidance to meet scorecard metrics around safety, productivity, client service and financial objectives. Lead an environmental department dedicated to executing and maintaining environmental compliance for the entire Utility including Gas and Electric construction projects and operations cradle to grave.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for assessment & implementation for environmental programs across the Utility to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance (i.e. Spill Management, Soil Management, SPCC, Air, Underground Storage Tanks)
- Regularly interface with key leadership while representing the Utility on issues and initiatives related to the assigned functional areas. Interface with key stakeholders (internal and external), local, State, federal government agencies to resolve issues that could impact successful execution of the Portfolio Develops and executes regulatory/legislative strategies along with Governmental Affairs, Legal and other internal groups.
Job Specific Qualifications
Basic Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge):
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
- At least 12 years' experience in operating, engineering or regulatory
- Extensive managerial experience of large groups
- Extensive knowledge of environmental remediation, the licensing and permitting business
- Extensive knowledge in environmental compliance
- Experience in construction and project management
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a safe driving history
