Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Data Operations team is looking for enthusiastic, goal-driven, proactive, and resourceful individuals to support innovation in our Ad Platforms and Operations One-Platform group. One-Platform is the collection of all NBCU’s data-driven, advanced advertising products, including data-driven linear, addressable, OTT and digital channel advertising products. You will support the Director on the Advanced Data Operations team and incorporate digital and convergent data tactics and strategies to ensure operational efficiency of audience-targeted ad products. 

In addition, you will work with the other members of the Data Operations team to streamline communication and optimize the workflow between the core internal teams, as well as data vendors, to ensure success and growth. 

Areas Of Responsibility Include, But Are Not Limited To 

  • Leverage coding and programming skills to analyze various datasets in order to build target audiences, provide insights and analysis on audience data and platform usage, and support data products requiring custom outputs from our pool of datasets. 
  • Work with venders to ensure audience targets are delivered and available for the execution of targeted campaigns across all platforms including digital, addressable, and data-driven linear. 
  • Partner with the digital leads within the larger Ad Sales group to provide data operations guidance, help develop new operational workflows to streamline convergent projects, and assist with troubleshooting. 
  • Utilize a broad spectrum of analytic tools and databases to identify key metrics, trends and insights that effectively position NBCUniversal ad products and services to clients 
  • Help manage vendor relationships, including identifying and testing ways to leverage their platforms and data for offline and online data convergence. 
  • Provide project management and tracking support to the overall data team to make audience-targeted campaign operations, new data-targeted product implementation, and troubleshooting processes more efficient. 
  • Pull reports and build dashboards to support internal teams with data insights. 
  • Assist in evaluating data vendors’ contribution to campaign fulfilment as well as our data products to ensure efficient sourcing of audience data. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering and IT teams to ensure that the implementation of new data products is optimized for data operations use and document new use cases, enhancements, and bugs. 
  • Keep abreast of the rapidly-evolving technologies and trends in the TV and digital realms and build a thorough understanding of the media and advertising ecosystem and its key

Qualifications

  • Advanced (Master or PhD) degree with specialization in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research or another quantitative field or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of combined experience in software development or data science
  • Experience with commercial recommender systems or a lead role in an advanced research recommender system project.
  • Cloud certification (with exam) in either solutions architecture or Machine Learning from AWS, Google, Microsoft, or other major cloud software provider
  • Working experience with deep learning, including computer vision, computational linguistics/conversational AI, or recommender systems. Strong experience with deep learning using TensorFlow.
  • Experience with Google AI Platform/Vertex AI, Kubeflow and Airflow.
  • Proficiency in Python. Go, Scala, or Java is a plus.
  • Experience in data processing using SQL and PySpark, and extensive experience with NoSQL and Feature Store production interactions
  • Good understanding of algorithmic complexity of model training and testing, particularly for real-time and near real-time models.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in content streaming or commerce as a senior contributor to AI/ML-powered product features and user experiences
  • Experience with reinforcement learning based systems.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level digital analytics platforms (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Experience with large-scale video assets.
  • Ability to build trust across the organization and socialize solutions and identified data insights
  • Pride and ownership in your work and confident representation of your team to other parts of NBCUniversal.

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
