Full timeTo advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this person designs digital experiences for all who encounter InterVarsity’s digital presence. This ranges from custom products and content to purchased platforms. Successful candidates know design thought, product design, and user research. They model collaborative working patterns with excellent communication. They continuously remind product and project teams of the importance of creating great audience outcomes.IMPORTANT: Candidates MUST include a link to a portfolio as part of the application materials
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Personal

Activities
- Project Analysis & Discovery: Conduct stakeholder interviews, user research, and other discovery techniques to define project requirements and align with organizational and user goals.
- Data: Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions. Present insights to stakeholders, ensuring data is handled responsibly and drives improvements.
- User Research: Conduct generative and evaluative research (e.g., user interviews, usability testing) and present insights to inform design. Iterate based on feedback to meet user needs.
- User Experience Design and Prototyping: Create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes. Test and refine designs based on user feedback to ensure usability and alignment with business goals.
- Content Design: Collaborate with Editorial and Design teams to ensure content supports the user experience and aligns with design intent.
- Visual & System Design: Ensure designs follow the Digital Design System and brand standards. Contribute to the development and evolution of the design system to maintain consistency and cohesion across digital experiences.
- Software Development: Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately. Basic understanding of Drupal and web languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) are helpful to provide specification in hand-off.
- Client and Team Engagement: Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to balance goals, user needs, and resources. Lead design discussions to align strategies and gather feedback.

Fundraising
- Raise a portion of salary in an amount or percentage agreed upon with Supervisor
- Communicate regularly with current and potential donors, churches, prayer support team members, friends and family regarding ministry with InterVarsity
QUALIFICATIONS (common to all levels of Digital Designers)
- Commitment to Mission & Values: Affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement annually and adhere to the organization’s Doctrinal Basis, Purpose Statement, Code of Conduct, and Human Sexuality Theological Paper. Support and align with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation.”
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Digital Media, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent years of professional experience in digital design may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in Figma. Familiarity with additional design tools is advantageous.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in digital design, showcasing design processes, user-centered solutions, and problem-solving abilities.
Digital Product Designer II
This is a Digital Product Designer who is skilled and experienced in all the methods and mindsets. They may be gaining mastery in 1-2 methods and beginning to coach other designers. They have 3 to 5 years of experience as a Digital Product Designer with InterVarsity (or other equivalent work experience).
Pay Range: $55,200.00 - $73,608.00 per yearBenefits:
