Database Engineer, Lead Associate

Responsibilities
Peraton is hiring a Database Engineer, Lead Associate to support critical missions within it's Risk Decision Group.
This is a 100% Remote position.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, and install database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
- Use data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
- Determine data storage and optimum storage requirements and ensure pipelines are robust, scalable, and efficient.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to automate the collection, transformation, and storage of data from various sources.
- Prepare system requirements, preform source analysis, and conduct process analysis and design throughout the database implementation.
- Evaluate, size, and select technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases.
- Write and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability.
- Implement comprehensive backup and database replication solutions.
- Collect, manage, and convert raw data to usable forms.
- Enhance the data quality and reliability to ensure intended results are delivered.
- Apply best practice to data extraction and transformation for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
- Provide the businesses with novel data validation methods along with appropriate data analysis tools.
- Optimize data delivery and re-design infrastructure for better stability.
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders for assistance in data-based issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- US. Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a T5/SSBI federally adjudicated clearance
- A bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Possesses knowledge and experience of advanced analytics and data storage.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark to efficiently process and analyze massive datasets.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
- A deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is crucial.
- Experience with SQL querying language and the Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem.
- Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) Ticketing, including ability to read and understand requirements and independently execute steps to complete requirements.
