Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Database Engineer, Associate to support critical missions within it's Risk Decision Group.

 

This is a 100% Remote position.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in building and maintaining database management systems, including modeling and design.

  • Support relational database architecture and configuration management efforts.

  • Utilize data mapping, mining, and transformation tools to help develop and refine databases.

  • Help determine optimal data storage solutions to ensure efficient and scalable pipelines.

  • Assist in designing and maintaining data pipelines for automated collection and transformation.

  • Work closely with team members to analyze sources, prepare system requirements, and optimize database implementations.

  • Gain experience in evaluating software, hardware, and networking components for database systems.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries under guidance to ensure performance and scalability.

  • Participate in implementing backup and database replication solutions.

  • Support data collection, management, and transformation to improve usability.

  • Learn and apply best practices for data extraction and transformation in predictive modeling.

  • Assist in developing data validation methods and analysis tools for business needs.

  • Help optimize data delivery processes and infrastructure for stability and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address data-related challenges and ensure accuracy.

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • US. Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a T5/SSBI federally adjudicated clearance
  • A bachelor’s degree, or 4 years work experience with no degree
  • Possesses knowledge and experience of advanced analytics and data storage.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is crucial.
  • Experience with SQL querying language and the Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) Ticketing, including ability to read and understand requirements and independently execute steps to complete requirements.
  • Basic knowledgeof Extract, Transform, Load tools and processes.
  • Experience in data modeling, schema design, and normalization techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to address data-related challenges.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Polished oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose, tailor, and deliver original presentations and papers on abstract concepts.
