Leidos DSI is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Database Engineer to fill a critical operational role supporting our FedRAMP authorized SaaS application. We serve high profile customers including all branches of federal, state, and local government, as well as commercial clients. Leidos DSI delivers industry-leading digital communications and workflow software along with excellent customer support.

Location: Candidate must be located within the USA.

The Challenge:

  • Support day-to-day operations of our SaaS environment with a focus on production databases and shared responsibility for overall engineering tasks
  • Respond to performance and outage alerts and ensure database backup and recovery jobs are in place and functioning properly
  • Provide consultative support to on-premise customers as needed
  • Heavily involved in future planning including cloud migrations and support of ongoing application development
  • Work with a team of experienced engineers, internal project teams, external service providers, and customers’ technical staff
  • Work to provide ongoing evolution of the IQ application across government markets will allow you to contribute to architecture and design decisions and process improvements.
  • This position offers an opportunity for a talented engineer to gain career building expertise in both technical and compliance domains supporting our FedRAMP -authorized SaaS.

What Sets You Apart (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree with four plus (4+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle 19c and Amazon RDS
  • Understanding of security compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53/FISMA/FedRAMP)
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management and change management best practices
  • Windows Server support/maintenance, Group Policy and Active Directory expertise
  • Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with team members, customers, vendors and support personnel.
  • Willingness/flexibility to perform weekend and after-hours system maintenance work
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance
