Cytogenetics Technologist - Remote

Are you an experienced Clinical Lab Professional? If so, Labcorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our team as a Cytogenetics Technologist. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at Labcorp: āImproving Health, Improving Livesā. The position will focus primarily on analysis of routine blood chromosomes utilizing the Applied Spectral Imaging software.

**Pay Range: $22.00 - $44.00 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidateās skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Job Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
- Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
- Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
- Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
- Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
- Comply with company policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Cytogenetics Technology or relatable life science
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory
- Previous experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images required
- Oncology cytogenetics experience preferred
- ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) highly preferred
- Computer skills; must be able to effectively use the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback
- Strong patient focus
- Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development
- Self-motivated and self-starter with ability to work independently with limited supervision
Work From Home Requirements:
- Home office space must be a dedicated room that isnāt shared and meets HIPAA compliance.
- Must agree to have your home address added to reports of cases you analyze or report. This is a CMS requirement
- Provide wired or wireless internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec
