Why this job is exciting:   

This is a fast-paced, dynamic IT pre-sales position. The Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer performs a key role in developing technical solutions for NexusTek’s clients, engaging them in the process to understand their technological needs and enhancing their technology efficiencies.    

 

 

 

 

Who you are   

A proactive and strategic individual, who will use critical thinking to align cybersecurity technology with business strategy and operational processes for our clients.  

You know how to: 

 

  • Communicate your deep understanding of the Company’s cybersecurity solutions and services portfolio to best address the client’s needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, SIEM, and cloud security.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their unique security challenges and develop solutions that meet their business objectives.
  • Conduct security assessments and gap analyses to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate and integrate cybersecurity products and solutions for clients from our preferred vendors.
  • Assess technical environments with a focus on identifying vulnerabilities and make security-centric recommendations to current and prospective clients.
  • Partner with the Client Executives, Account Managers, and Sales Operations teams to deliver excellent cybersecurity services to current and prospective clients.
  • Maintain accountability for the analysis, preparation, and delivery of security-focused Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) for each client in your assigned portfolio.
  • Create technical plans and budgets that map to the client or prospective clients’ business goals, emphasizing cybersecurity requirements.
  • Educate internal and external customers on cybersecurity best practices and solution capabilities.
  • Participate with the sales team on early-stage prospect interactions to identify and address cybersecurity needs.
  • Consult with technical and business partners, particularly in the area of cybersecurity.
  • Ensure ongoing satisfaction with and eventual realization of cybersecurity solutions and products that were articulated during the sales and onboarding process.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external customers to define cybersecurity deliverables.
  • Serve as a consulting resource to support client-hosted cybersecurity installations and implementations.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve security operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service. Demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • Initiate and prepare accurate documentation, reports, schedules, time and expense tracking, and spreadsheets as directed or required by client needs, departmental procedures, and Company policy.

 

You have skills in the following technologies: 

 

  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, SIEM, DLP, and cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with security compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools for security operations (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Microsoft-based servers and workstations with a focus on securing these environments
  • Active Directory and related security practices, including Group Policy and Identity Management
  • MS Office 365, with a focus on security configurations and compliance
  • Network firewalls, managed switches, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
  • Security practices for SAN Administration
  • Secure switching and routing practices
  • Backup and disaster recovery solutions, emphasizing data protection and ransomware prevention
  • Cloud-based technologies, including cloud security practices and controls
  • Virtualization technologies, with a focus on secure virtual environments

 

Cybersecurity certifications are highly preferred, including but not limited to: 

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
  • Additional certifications in related areas such as networking, cloud security, and compliance (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional) are also advantageous

Must maintain current certifications and commit to ongoing professional development in hybrid cloud technologies and related fields. 

 

 

Pay and Benefits

  

This is a full-time position located in the United States and performed remotely with minimal travel.  

 

Estimated Starting Salary/Wage Range: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis (The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure [for existing employees] skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.  Note that the majority of individuals in the position will fall in the low to mid-level of this scale; the upper end of this pay scale is offered only in exceptional circumstances and/or for unusually qualified candidates.)   

 

In additional to the base salary this position offers sales incentives as On Target Earnings or OTE (OTE = base salary + sales incentives/commissions) 

The expected OTE for this role is $135,000.00 - $165,000.00
