Job Description

Come be a part of NBCUniversal Enterprise Cyber Security (NBCU ECS) and accelerate our security engineering by building systems, tools, and processes for critical security systems using modern development and cloud development techniques!  

This role is a part of the Cyber Security Core Cloud Engineering team [Enterprise Cyber Security’s Platform Engineering Team] and reports to the Platform Security Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for security technology that supports the entirety of NBCU’s enterprise. You'll actively lead in identifying key processes around the sustainability and availability of our security products, working to develop proactive approaches for support, deployment, and optimizations of security toolsets, and be regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).  

Responsibilities:

• Developing cloud-based applications, micro services, APIs, and simple interfaces in a public multi-cloud environment
• Establish, sustain, and improve highly available, secure, and scalable foundations for core cloud-based security services
• Leverage and improve tooling for configuration management, containerization, and secrets management with a DevSecOps agile approach
• Provide documentation and resources to enable other technologists to leverage new tooling and software solutions
• Utilize your extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services and integrate them with existing data providers

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with:
  • Web services, API, REST, and RPC
  • Working in at least one public cloud platform - multiple a plus! (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Scripting in multiple languages, primarily Python and Go
  • CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions and AWS Codebuild.

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience building Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or other platform)
• Experience developing and integrating Cyber Security tooling
• A thirst for improvement and an inclination to thoughtfully challenge the status quo, 
• Desire to try things and iterate on them, fail fast, and focus on functionality that matters, 
• Ability to adapt Agile methodologies and applying them to engineering/development best practices,
• Demonstration of teamwork and ability to work independently.

• Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
