Job Summary
This position is regarded as a business contract expert in Employee Benefits and is utilized as a consultant on extremely complex cases to coordinate contractual efforts by working with marketing, sales, proposal, underwriting, and implementation personnel to sell, install, service, and retain exceedingly complex policyholders. Drafts the most complex contracts and is a resource for experienced contract analysts to solve intricate contract problems with innovative solutions.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Is considered an expert in their professional field with in-depth knowledge, mastery of analyzing detailed information to apply creative solutions, and problem solving skills to draft customized complex contract documents.
Is able to successfully lead or direct the customer through a contract review during implementation of complex policy opportunities and offerings, by expressing ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
Is able provide mentoring and training for colleagues with less experience and model leadership for expected behaviors.
Requires partnership with marketing, implementation, proposal, underwriting, legal, compliance, and benefits departments to apply appropriate policy, business judgment, and funding techniques in contract language.
Is able to be a consultative and advisory resource on legal statutes, drafting techniques, systems input, and procedures.
Is able to negotiate and problem solve complex or sensitive customer inquiries. Is able to recommend draft custom contract or agreement language to legal and compliance to mitigate risk for state filings.
Is able to provide clear analysis to consultants or contract analysts that ensures initial and subsequent drafts of a contract accurately reflect the customer expectations.
Requires approval of specialized enrollment materials for other functional areas.
Requires development and maintenance of effective working relationships with contract analysts, consultants, field personnel, Policyholders and other Home Office employees by utilizing responsive communication and flexible problem resolution.
Independence & Supv required: May request consultative direction when needed - results are reviewed by senior management.
