The Opportunity:

If you are a passionate fan and a serious consumer of entertainment, the Product Metadata & Ratings team at Netflix is seeking a unique candidate who can capture the essence of series, films and specials — and turn that into metadata and insights. This starts with digging deep into every title, researching, analyzing, tagging, rating, reviewing and understanding the nuances of the content to help connect our members to the content they’ll love.

This role will join a team of classification experts: people who can identify, collect and transform the artistic qualities of films and series into the data that powers personalization for millions of people around the world. You have broad and omnivorous taste in television and are able to identify the themes that allow audiences around the world to laugh, think, escape, cry, and tell their friends, “You have to watch this.”

The Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate is an entertainment maven with deep and passionate knowledge of TV and film – with an added bonus if you understand kids entertainment or anime. They will be able to succinctly communicate what’s important about a piece of content and why. They’ll be unfazed by the high-volume, high-quality, deadline- and data-driven environment that thrives on debate and candor. They’ll be a strong communicator and advocate for the importance of this work to colleagues beyond your team and able to work with metadata management tools that our team uses to apply their craft. They’ll be flexible, adaptive and curious in an ever-evolving organizational landscape. Most of all, they’ll love entertainment and be inquisitive about what makes a great story.
