About This Role:
The role involves developing a strategic plan for a specific commodity group, managing relationships with key suppliers, and coordinating with engineering and product management on technology roadmaps. Responsibilities include negotiating prices, assessing supplier capabilities, and selecting suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and minimal inventory. The role also ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company standards. The ideal candidate will be located near Palm Beach Gardens, Charlotte, Atlanta, Syracuse, or Indianapolis. Remote will also be considered for the right candidate.
Job Description:
Develops, presents, and executes a global supply chain strategy for a specific category / commodity in alignment with future technology roadmaps and regulatory drivers
Leads negotiation on long-term contracts that secure best-in-class cost, quality, and delivery
Leads cross-functional teams to collaborate on short and long-term strategies that drive agility, resiliency, affordability, and innovation
Manages external relationships with suppliers and assumes responsibility for all internal activities and decisions associated with the category and suppliers, including contract negotiations, new product development, approved vendor list, RFQ, re-sourcing, dual qualification, pricing changes, quality, and capacity.
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations
Evaluates and selects suppliers based on capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness
Owns the overall category and supplier performance data and reports metrics to leadership
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, or strategic operations OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, or strategic operations
Ability to travel as needed both domestic and international up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in supply chain or engineering
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong negotiation skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills
Team player with ability to influence stakeholders
Thrives in a highly matrixed organization
Procurement project leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical acumen / understanding of commodity management and ability to quickly learn products and industry
Experience in managing categories or projects related to refrigerants, chemicals, or gases

Pay Range:
