Are you confident working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities? If so, come and join EDF as a Commercial Manager!

The Opportunity

As a Commercial Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering key commercial activities on the HPC Project. Your role will include tendering, negotiating new contracts, managing Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA’s), and reviewing framework contracts while ensuring robust commercial governance, policies, and procedures.

Working within the ‘Services Function, Site Construction’ team, you’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance in a fast-paced and evolving programme.

This position offers an opportunity to engage with both supply chain partners and HPC (NNB) staff at all levels, shaping strategic contract direction. You’ll contribute to the long-term success of the project while enhancing your commercial expertise in a high-profile environment.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a starting salary of £52,000 and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

Managing the full tender process, you will oversee everything from strategy and market research to supplier selection and contract award, ensuring governance requirements and internal approvals are met. This includes reviewing LTSA and Framework Agreements, working closely with Credit Risk, Legal, and other stakeholders to conduct due diligence and create robust contractual documentation. You will maintain a strong focus on cost control while enhancing supply chain value, efficiency, and innovation, ensuring all commercial activities align with HPC procurement procedures.

Acting as an Intelligent Customer, you will uphold commercial integrity, ensure fair treatment of the supply chain, and meet stakeholder expectations for value and compliance. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring governance processes are followed throughout the commercial lifecycle. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvements, drive change initiatives, and facilitate knowledge sharing across NNB projects and programs, ensuring seamless contract handovers.

Beyond your commercial responsibilities, you will mentor and support team members, including managing commercial assistants. You will play a key role in professional development while fostering a strong nuclear safety culture, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and upheld in a complex and highly regulated environment.

Who you are

You’ll be a member of, or working towards membership in, a professional body such as CIPS or RICS. A proven track record in managing tender processes is essential, along with strong negotiation skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions. A degree-level education is preferred, and you’ll need strong analytical and numerical abilities to navigate complex commercial activities effectively.

A solid understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management, and change processes is key. Familiarity with agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, Collateral Warranties, and Parent Company Guarantees is important. Additionally, experience with commonly used contracts in the power construction industry, particularly NEC would be advantageous.

The ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while ensuring compliance and best practices is essential. Experience in highly regulated environments is desirable, particularly within the nuclear sector. An understanding of nuclear site licence conditions, the nuclear baseline philosophy, and the UK regulatory framework would be beneficial.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
