Responsibilities

We are hiring a Cloud Systems Administrator in a part time role working remotely, approximately 30 hours per week. 

 

What you'll do:

 

As a Cloud Systems Administrator for the CNIC N9 Program, you will apply and grow your expertise in managing online web applications and infrastructure using AWS cloud solutions to help the Navy maintain fleet and family readiness across the globe. This a part-time position working approximately 30 hours per week. 

• Maintaining smooth operation of virtual web-based business information systems for DOD, including continuous integration of application software developed by Peraton and third parties. Applying software, OS, and security patches on regular basis.
• Monitoring and managing system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and outages to maintain high operating efficiency and availability.
• Performing systems security administration and configuration functions, including renewing domains, applying SSL certificates, configuring controlled access, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and configuring mass storage space.
• Evaluating vendor products. Making recommendations to purchase machine images and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Developing and monitors policies, standards, and procedures for high availability, effective use, and allocation of resources.
• Troubleshooting and solving system issues and reporting regular status. Assisting development teams with installation and promotion of applications and data.

 

Qualifications

What you'll need:

 

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, in lieu of degree, 12 years of applicable experience will be acceptable. 

• CompTia Security+ 
• 8 or more years of experience performing as a system administrator in web-based computing environment with some or all of the following:
• Microsoft Windows Server OS configuration and maintenance.
• Linux Server OS configuration and maintenance.
• Application/Web Server configuration and maintenance.
• Database/Data server configuration and maintenance.
• Must be eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Security clearance.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. Apply
