The Health & Civil sector has an opening for a Cloud Engineer / Developer to support development of repeatable managed service offerings for Leidos customers and new markets, an emerging business pursuit for Leidos.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based applications and services. The role requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of cloud technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure software solutions. The Health & Civil Cloud Engineer / Developer will design, develop and deploy cloud-native applications using best practices and modern cloud technologies that support connectivity to various data systems for end-users. The successful candidate will be a collaborator and strong communicator who possesses excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. This is a remote position.

MUST be authorized to work in the United States.

Travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product managers to gather requirements, define software specifications, and implement solutions.
  • Contribute to technical architecture, implementation, and operational management of AWS cloud environments.
  • Designing, building, testing, automating, and supporting the migration of workloads to AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Maintain and improve existing cloud applications by diagnosing issues, implementing bug fixes, and performing upgrades.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Apply industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components e.g. security, elasticity, performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, user manuals, and code comments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Health and HealthIT environments
  • 4+ years of experience in software development using cloud native services. Specific experience with AWS cloud services is preferred.
  • Experience designing, configuring, and administering AWS cloud implementations using AWS services such as EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, Textract, Comprehend, Bedrock, etc.
