The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Claims Manager to lead and manage our claims team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within claims management, with a proven track record of successfully managing people, driving performance, and achieving business objectives.

Reporting to Casey Lasda, EVP Customer Success & Underwriting, This role will primarily make contributions to improving the company’s performance and profitability, aiming to drive claims efficiency and improve relationships with customers, clients, and other stakeholders, focus on managing the landlord (LL) customer-facing team, handling business development (BD) escalations, and ensuring the overall performance management of the team. The Claims Manager will also work closely with the Operations team to optimize existing processes, improve team productivity, and ensure a smooth claims process while maintaining compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Performance Management:
    • Manage and lead our claims team with a focus on B2B customer service.
    • Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to team members to improve individual and team performance.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, ensuring a high level of motivation and engagement.
  • Claims Management:
    • Oversee the end-to-end claims process, ensuring timely and accurate claims resolution.
    • Resolve complex claims issues and escalations, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to company policies.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., underwriting, legal, customer service) to ensure claims are handled efficiently.
  • Process Optimization & Collaboration with Ops Team:
    • Work closely with the Operations team to optimize claims processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement best practices to improve team performance.
    • Track and report on team and individual KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
    • Analyze trends and data to uncover opportunities for process optimization and streamline workflows for better operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in a claims management or similar leadership role, including experience managing teams.
    • Previous experience in a fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
    • Experience in managing and improving KPIs and performance metrics for teams.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice to have:
    • A background in project and process management is a plus.
    • Experience working with BPOs or outsourcing partners is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with claims management software and systems.
    • A relevant adjuster license is a nice-to-have but not required.

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $100,000 - $120,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
