Job Summary
You will be integrated into the Casualty department and trained to adjust a pending of Automobile Casualty losses to predominately include moderate severity Bodily Injury and Un/Under Insured Motorist claims. With appropriate training, there may be some exposure to litigation management and/or mediation / arbitration. Responsibilities include screening new losses to determine coverage exposures, thoroughly investigating liability, evaluating claim values, negotiating final disposition of claims with appropriate parties, and issuing timely and accurate payments if appropriate.
You will have frequent communication (oral and written) with medical providers, customers and attorneys which are required and these contacts must be timely and professional.
Strong telephone customer service skills and the ability to empathize with claimants and customers are needed.
Should possess a high level of initiative and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and in a team environment with moderate to heavy daily workloads in a fast paced environment.
Strong business and decision making skills as well as the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality are required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 0 - 2 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 2 - 4 years.
Knowledge: General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Applies them to perform work requiring analytical business skills.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- One (1) year of Physical Damage claims adjusting or relevant Contact Center Claim Services, medical or legal experience preferred. This may stem from a Personal Injury Law setting or a Medical Office setting.
- Refers to and interprets policies and practices for guidance and accurate application. Highly organized.
- General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Learns and applies them to perform work requiring analytical business skills.
- Ability to assimilate job responsibilities quickly and professionally.
- This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills and the demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work to assure productivity goals of managing a pending are met.
- Strong telephone customer service skills and the ability to empathize is needed.
- Must possess good to strong CRT / PC skills with accurate keyboarding abilities.
- Must possess good math skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Insurance Industry Education desirable but we will train the people with the right mind set, follow through and aptitude
