Brief Summary of Role


As the Channel Experience Marketing Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and implement a marketing strategy that is seamless across our distribution channels, encouraging sales activity, highlighting Obie’s value proposition to stakeholders, and championing our products to support the company’s growth goals. This role requires someone who enjoys partnering across teams, building relationships, managing systems and working in multiple channels to support lead generation. You’ll be a valued member of the marketing team and report directly to the Director of Marketing.


What you'll Do

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and performance of marketing and automated account management campaigns to Agent and Partner contacts that drive engagement, lead generation and sales activity
  • Build relationships with marketing representatives from top Agent and Partner groups, identifying opportunities for co-branded marketing strategies and implementing mutually beneficial marketing initiatives that support Obie’s growth
  • Develop tiered marketing support packages alongside the Director of Marketing, equipping Agents and Partners with material that empowers them to sell Obie policies
  • Research consumer behavior trends, real estate/insurance trends, macro trends, target audience, demography, etc. to inform Agent/Partner co-branded marketing efforts
  • Develop/manage an effective communications framework with the Channel Distribution team that informs partners of insurance product and technology launches and enhancements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams to execute on initiatives including marketing, insurance product, sales, engineering, design, legal and others
  • Draft copy for marketing collateral, including presentations, pitch decks, emails, brochures, newsletters, webinars, case studies, etc. for Channel Distribution
  • Leverage A/B experimentation, testing, and data-driven targeting within marketing campaigns to optimize performance
  • Build and/or maintain operational dashboards and reporting to track, manage, and provide valuable insights on metrics and performance and drive continuous optimization
  • Develop incentivization programs within channel engagement campaigns to support lead generation

What you'll Bring

  • 4+ years experience in marketing automation, digital marketing, email marketing
  • 1+ years working at a high-growth tech startup OR an insurance sales company
  • Proficiency with GSuite products and CRM tools (HubSpot/Salesforce) is required
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable using self-serve data/analytics and visualization tools
  • Expertise in mapping the customer journey and the roles different marketing channels play in that journey

  3. Complete a Project Exercise
    This role requires strong planning, collaboration, and leadership skills, so we’ll ask you to complete a short exercise. You can take your time and use the resources available. We’ll assess your problem-solving abilities, writing skills, empathy, demeanor, and how well you apply key project management strategies. More details will come when you reach this step!
  4. Meet the Team
    Since you'll be joining a close-knit team, we'll ask you to meet other people in the company so we get to know each other a bit better

Obie values transparency and data driven decision making, enabling us to have a consistent and equitable approach to compensation. We are informed by a benchmarking tool which provides real time compensation data allowing us to regularly check our salary ranges against other venture backed companies and startups within our industry. We've provided the full base salary range for this role below, but please note that we typically target the mid point of the salary range to allow room for growth within the role. Your salary is dependent upon many factors, including years of relevant experience, expertise, etc.
