Business Development Research Analyst (Remote)

We are seeking a Business Development Research Analyst to help grow our pipeline and sales by leveraging industry data across our energy, climate, transportation, environment, and disaster management markets. You will perform market research and analysis providing insights that support the identification, qualification, pursuit, and capture of opportunities and overall business development strategy.
As part of a collaborative business development team, you will work within a matrixed environment to support various Business Development professionals, Capture Managers, subject matter experts, Sales Managers, and others from across the organization.
Ideally, you will have experience with business development research in the professional consulting services arena for commercial and public clients, including federal, state, and local governments. You should have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, experience reviewing multiple data sources and consolidating relevant information into visual formats for review and presentation. You should be able to accomplish these discrete research tasks independently, drawing on your specific experience with business development research, and taking full ownership of the final deliverable to internal clients. You should also be highly organized, motivated, and intensely curious, with proven skills managing projects and tasks to deliver outcomes.
What You Will Do:
Contribute to pipeline development efforts through market research by reviewing multiple data sources including, but not limited to government databases, procurement forecasts, third-party market research sites, industry newsletters, government Industry days, client and market-related websites, legislation, and regulations.
Support the capture process for specific opportunities by researching and analysing competitors and teaming partners, gathering client intelligence, etc.
Conduct research on major competitors and key strategic teaming partners in the various markets and organize and continually update information in a database.
Design and develop data analyses, visualize the output, and interpret and present findings.
Complete quick-turnaround ad hoc research requests for a variety of internal stakeholders.
Attend virtual conferences and webinars related to industry topics, reporting back summary results to a wider team.
What You Will Bring With You:
2+ years of research experience in the public sector, e.g., market research, competitive analysis, bid positioning, capture strategy or business development.
Experience in organizing, analyzing, and presenting information to key stakeholders.
Experience with government contracting research resources, such as Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), GovWin, USASpending.gov, SAM.gov, DACIS, Bloomberg Government, g2xchange, etc.
