The Role: 


We are looking for a full-time Business Development Representative to help create and build new opportunities in a business category that is dynamic and inspiring. This position plays a key role in driving our growth and expansion in pivotal target markets and will own all top of funnel sales activities. As a development leader, this role will take creative approaches to opening opportunities and ensuring messaging and market alignment.


The Business Development Representative role is an individual contributor and top of the funnel sales cycle role that is responsible for building enterprise relationships, generating new opportunities, and providing a seamless experience for prospects during the sales process. This will be a fully remote role with minimal travel requirements.


Responsibilities: 

  • Gathering market and agency information and building a corresponding targeting approach
  • Developing, maintaining, and executing Account Plans for all accounts within an assigned territory
  • Engaging target agencies through multiple levels and entry points across the organization 
  • Owning top of funnel sales activity through calls, emails, LinkedIn and other proactive outreach methods
  • Qualifying opportunities and scheduling meetings with potential partner agencies
  • Working collaboratively with various teams within Benchmark Analytics in the development of various strategies, markets, offerings, and initiatives
  • Consistent documentation of activities and opportunities via Salesforce

Job Qualifications:

  • This is a remote role with a preference to Chicago-based candidates. Travel will be minimal and may include select conferences, meetings, and office visits.
  • Successful experience in selling software and solutions to government entities is a plus.
  • High energy, with a positive “Can Do” attitude, comfortable with fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Must be a proactive, resourceful self-starter, able to take initiative and be accountable for results.
  • A strong ethical foundation, capable of thriving in an environment and culture where honesty, integrity, and accountability are core values. 
  • Strong and versatile problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Estimated Annual Salary:

  • $50k-65k with commission opportunities
