Building Intergration Lead
Bristol, GB
Aztec West, Bristol - with flexibility of working from home, minimum 3 days a week in the office.
Are you an experienced professional with a strong background in building design and project configuration management? Do you have strong negotiation and communication abilities with experience in leading complex projects within large teams? If so, come and join EDF as a Building Integration Lead!
The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
As a Building Integration Lead, you’ll be responsible for resolving Open Points (OP) and risks, as well as integrating all changes impacting the Building Design under your scope. You’ll act as an architect by monitoring and safeguarding Design Margins (such as loads, electrical saturation, and HVAC) and ensuring the timely closure of PHOP in alignment with project requirements, with design stability as a core focus.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Technical Co-ordination Lead within the HPC Integrated Team to maintain a consistent level of technical coordination and interface management across the entire project.
Pay, benefits and culture
Alongside a salary circa £65,000 and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the global monitoring and closure of Post Handover Open Points (PHOP), ensuring alignment with project needs like manufacturing, qualification, erection, and commissioning. As the primary point of contact for PHOP management and client requests (NNB, JDO, OPEX), you’ll handle reporting and communication across the integrated team, Contract Engineering Leads, and HPC stakeholders. You’ll also act as the building’s Configuration Manager, integrating all disciplines to meet building requirements and managing activities led by the remaining delivery team.
You’ll oversee key input data impacting the buildings, such as Supplier Feedback, load management, and electrical saturation, in collaboration with Contract Engineering, Discipline, and Systems Integration Leads. This includes monitoring and reporting to the Post-delivery Manager and Technical Coordination Lead. You’ll coordinate discipline teams to assess impacts, escalate technical topics to committees, and ensure proper communication when PHOP activities overlap with building delivery milestones.
Leading a small team, you’ll manage technical delivery integration and act as the building’s NCR correspondent, ensuring configuration issues are addressed before delivery. You’ll also foster collaboration across the building team and HPC Integrated Team to support the Technical Coordination Lead and ensure successful project outcomes.
Who you are
You’ll understand building design, along with strong knowledge and experience in project configuration management tools and processes (e.g., UKDC, OPM, ICM). You’ll bring expertise in engineering disciplines to ensure effective management of project interfaces and sequences, backed by robust experience in EPR design and engineering processes.
You’ll demonstrate strong technical credibility, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage a small team. Your approach will be pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the ability to escalate issues effectively. Experience working in large teams and complex environments will be essential, along with the ability to uphold high standards of safety and quality.
We’re looking for someone who can build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, while maintaining a focus on delivering results. An engineering degree or equivalent is required, along with the capability to lead and deliver within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
Closing date for applications: 9th January 2025
