Benefits Manager
U.S. Remote
SPS is seeking a Manager, Benefits to lead and optimize our benefits programs across multiple states. This high-impact, strategic, and hands-on role is perfect for an experienced benefits leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing SPS’s benefits strategy to support our employees and business objectives.
Location – Remote, US.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership & Program Management
- Design, evaluate, and enhance competitive, complaint, and cost-effective benefits policies to attract and retain top talent.
- Develop and implement multi-state benefits strategies that align with SPS’s business goals and workforce needs.
- Monitor industry trends, conduct benchmarking, and provide recommendations for continuous program improvement.
- Ensure effective integration of benefits programs during mergers and acquisitions.
Compliance & Administration
- Oversee and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other relevant laws.
- Manage all reporting requirements, including regulatory filings and audits.
- Lead benefits-related investigations, appeals, and policy development to maintain compliance and risk mitigation.
Employee Engagement & Communication
- Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees on benefits offerings and optimize program utilization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees, addressing inquiries, resolving escalated benefits issues, and providing guidance on plan options.
- Collaborate with HR, leadership, and external vendors to enhance employee experience and satisfaction.
Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage relationships with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, assess plan performance, and drive enhancements to maximize value.
- Analyze benefits utilization, cost trends, and financial impacts, making data-driven recommendations to optimize programs.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in benefits management, with expertise in multi-state benefits programs.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits laws and compliance requirements.
- Extensive experience overseeing employee benefits programs in both the US and Canada.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize comprehensive benefits strategies.
- Experience managing benefits administration platforms, HRIS systems, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage employees, leadership, and external partners.
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Salary: $120,000 – $130,000
