Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Assistant Vice President, Global Corporate Citizenship Programs takes the lead role in running day-to-day management of the Company’s charitable efforts, this includes managing the Education as an Equalizer program, overseeing the company-sponsored volunteer activities and leveraging best practices, metrics, reporting, and program communications.  The Assistant Vice President, Programs is an expert planner and project manager and is responsible for creating new opportunities, implementing new community and employee initiatives, and serving as an advisor to all business units on Corporate Citizenship.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage key programs of Education as an Equalizer, including:

    • Collaborations and partnership with Diversity Networks

    • Liaise with global nonprofit partners

    • Research and vet nonprofits

    • Oversee and analyze data and impact reports from nonprofit partners

    • Assist to create, build, and amplify financial education initiatives with employees and in our communities

  • Manage company-wide volunteer and community service initiatives, including the development and execution of Community Service at Synchrony’s annual events; act as a SME for general volunteer activities

  • Assist with Employee Emergency Relief Fund; assist HR team with employee emergencies and crisis

  • Oversee and manage the annual BLP Community Service rotation in coordination with the Leadership and Early Career team

  • Partner with Corporate Affairs and Governance to develop, write and support execution of strategic external/internal communication including company emails, annual reports, papers, social media posts etc.

  • Assist with storytelling, presentations and content creation for meetings, Global Town Halls and Synchrony and Synchrony Foundation board materials

  • Assist with payments process for the Synchrony Foundation, managing over $20 million in annual payments to nonprofits worldwide, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements and maintaining comprehensive financial tracking and reconciliation

  • Manage all Compliance and Risk processes (L3 Process Owner), promoting a strong risk governance culture and personal accountability of owned processes

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of corporate foundation rules, regulations, and responsibilities

  • Perform other duties and/or special project as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree and 3+ years of nonprofit experience, corporate foundation, HR, and/or business experience; in lieu of a degree 6+ years of nonprofit experience, corporate foundation, HR, and/or business experience

  • 3+ years of project management and strategic partnering

  • Strong reporting and data analytics skills

  • Strong proficiency with MS Teams, Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), and other management tools

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
