What’s in Store
We're on the lookout for an Auto Claims Adjuster. As an Auto Claims Adjuster you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, disposition and settle multi-line or auto claims, to determine legal liability, damages, and coverage. Assigned claims may involve serious injuries and/or damages, requiring direct involvement in handling complex and high exposure events, litigation and/or mediation of complex issues, requiring minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- 4+ years auto claims experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Communicate with insureds, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, and other carriers via telephone & written correspondence
- Communicate with internal personnel including legal and management
- Take recorded statements
- Make liability and coverage decisions based on conclusions of investigation
- Issue payments
- Maintain a pending and closing ratio of 100%
- Establish and maintain reserves and payments
- Review and interpret estimates
- Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
This role is a full-time remote position.
Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to manage complex claims at every angle including, coverage, damage analysis, experts, reserving, subrogation and risk transfer
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and recommendations to clients.
- Ability to analyze and research legal and claim trends
- Ability to understand policies and strong reading, writing skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to review and interpret estimates
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required
