Associate Tax Manager

We are seeking an Associate Manager, Tax. In this role you will report to Senior Director of Tax Operations in support of Regeneron’s overall tax initiatives through preparation of financial statements, tax returns and other compliance related tasks.

This position is based at Regeneron's Corporate HQ in Sleepy Hollow, NY, with 4 days per week onsite required. It is not open to fully remote work

As an Associate Manager, Tax a typical day may include the following:

  • Coordinate with co-sourced tax compliance engagement team to ensure accurate and timely completion of all state and local income tax return and quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Preparation of state and local US GAAP quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
  • Assist Director of Controversy with any state income tax and sales and use tax audits
  • Identify and communicate tax compliance risks and opportunities
  • Preparation and timely filing of all required Sales and Use Tax returns. Identify and implement efficiencies in the sales and use tax process
  • Prepare of quarterly use tax cost center reallocation journal entries and monthly variance analysis.
  • Identify savings/opportunities relating to sales and use tax by ensuring the proper exemptions are being applied to the Company’s purchases. Oversee the preparation of exemption certificates as necessary
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders on taxability of purchases
  • Preparation and filing of quarterly Federal Excise tax returns
  • Prepare annual reporting requirements associated with various state jurisdiction credit programs (e.g. Empire State Development Credits)
  • Determine Automatic Withholding Tax applicability and vendor set-ups as needed, prepare US Form 1042 and associated 1042S on an annual basis

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting w/ (CPA) Certified Public Accountant, and/or post-graduate study in Taxation preferred. Minimum of 3 years' experience with a Big 4, regional accounting firm or corporate tax department. Experience with income tax accounting (ASC 740) and US income tax compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource software required
