Advanced Technology is seeking a multi-disciplinary Engineering Project Leader that is responsible for the strategy and development of a portfolio of new and advanced wideband hybrid electronic-photonics sensors and RF signal processing capabilities in support of research and development programs.

In this role, you will provide technical direction and expertise during new program capture through execution, as well as working across the Raytheon enterprise to support further maturation and transition into operational programs. Additionally, you will identify strategic product development opportunities, and proposing and coordinating Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects across programs and product lines. They work closely with engineers across technical disciplines, and are highly visible, influential, and accountable within Raytheon’s programs and leadership community.
 

This role is remote with monthly travel to El Segundo, CA and potential aperiodic travel to customer (DC) and other internal domestic locations.

What You Will Do

  • Perform regular customer interactions to develop strategic and emerging hybrid electronic-photonic sensing opportunities, white papers and proposals.
  • Lead technical white papers and proposal volumes through cross-organizational collaboration to deliver customer-focused and high-scoring content.
  • Lead trade studies on various sensing systems and sub-systems related to wideband RF and hybrid electronic-photonic sensors.
  • Lead/support modeling and simulation and requirements development.
  • Lead design and hardware/software development of emerging wideband electronic-photonic signal processing solutions (e.g. photonically-enabled channelization, true-time delay lines)
  • Support development and implementation of digital signal processing methodologies and algorithms in conjunction with electronics/hybrid systems.
  • Interact with customers, sponsors and partners at all organizational levels to maximize probability of successful pursuit and execution of contract R&D.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Program Management and Technical Leadership, Engineering Leadership, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers.
  • Guide, apprentice, mentor, and train employees within the RF, mixed-signal, DSP, embedded systems, and photonic technical domains.
