Business Insights and Analytics, Pharma and Rare Disease Digital Marketing Effectiveness – Team Leader

We are looking for a passionate and consultative Marketing Effectiveness and Optimization Team Leader to join our Business Insights and Analytics (BIA) team in the US Human Health Market. The leader will drive innovative analytics that inform promotional investment decisions to maximize business performance across channels, brands, and customer segments for both Pharma and Rare Disease Business Units.

Primary Job Functions: 

  • Lead and Innovate: Engage with therapeutic area aligned teams and leaders across the US commercial organizations to understand strategic priorities across launch, in-line assets and indication management.

  • Expertise in Analytics: Serve as a subject matter expert in marketing mix models, promotion optimization, ROI, media measurement and campaign effectiveness.

  • Optimize: Drive the implementation of new analytics methodologies to optimize promotion resource management decisions and enhance business performance.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with stakeholders and expert analytics leaders to translate priorities into business needs and enable interconnected problem solving, aligned to business goals. 

  • Supervise and Mentor: Guide junior data scientists and manage project plans to foster a collaborative team environment.

  • Communicate Effectively: Simplify complex analytical methods for diverse audiences and ensure clear understanding of investment decisions across teams.

The following skills and knowledge are needed to be successful in this role:

  • Business Acumen:  Understand the sales and marketing environment and decision points to optimize marketing investments for a portfolio of pharmaceutical and rare disease brands.

  • Analytics Champion: Application of advanced marketing analytics methods to inform campaign/channel/content effectiveness, marketing mix and promotion optimization, A/B and pilot testing, and simulation methods to inform Sales and Marketing decisions.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Team Leadership to address opportunities, generate and evaluate alternatives, and advise data-driven decisions.

  • Communication and Storytelling: Derive actionable business insights from complex and data sources and communicate recommendations effectively to business stakeholders.

  • Networking and Partnerships: Build trust, encourage two-way communication, and develop relationships with stakeholders while achieving business results.

  • Project Management: Manage analytics and digital solutions projects to deliver actionable and meaningful insights to stakeholders in a timely manner.

Requirements for Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline is required (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Operation Research, Data Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Quantitative Business Analytics, Economics)

  • Master’s degree is preferred.

  • 5+ years as a commercial analytics team leader including media and marketing measurement in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.

  • 2+ years managing others in a supervisory capacity is preferred.

  • Expertise in pharmaceutical industry data sources such as IQVIA’s Xponent, APLD, DDD and HCOS.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and SQL.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$153,800.00 - $242,200.00
