RTX Enterprise Data Services (EDX) group has as an opening for an Associate Director, Dev/CloudOps Manager (Associate Director, Software Development) to design and build the next generation of enterprise Dev/Cloud-Ops capabilities for RTX.  Remote Opportunity.

As the lead of a cross-functional team of product managers, software & data engineers and designers, you will combine your Dev/Cloud-Ops, problem-solving and collaboration skills to solve complex problems in the aerospace and defense industry leveraging best of breed FOSS and COTS technologies and work closely with RTX business units to challenge the boundaries of what’s possible and drive innovation. 

What You Will Do 

  • Lead platform engineering and operations for the Dev/Cloud Ops toolchain 
  • Provide deep Dev/Cloud Ops expertise and thought leadership across engineering teams 
  • Accelerate the adoption best practices and provide a current industry perspective on relevant domains 
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies such as Kubernetes to advance Dev/Cloud Ops capabilities 
  • Evangelize EDX capabilities to drive adoption and reduce implementation time to value 
  • Proactively build maintainability, reliability, performance, scalability, security, compliance and quality into the DevSecOps product offering 
  • Foster an engineering culture and contribute to developing the next generation of DevSecOps talent 
  • Ensure the timely delivery of DevSecOps capabilities through continuous improvement and agile engineering maturity 
  • Travel up to 5% domestically

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically a minimum of 12+ years’ experience in Dev/Cloud-Ops and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling; Advanced degree and 10+ years related work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software development 
  • 3+ years of experience in DevSecOps 
  • Experience implementing data and software solutions in support of an Enterprise-wide data strategy 
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Product Management and DevOps framework
  • Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Best Practices in Continuous Integration / Delivery, Monitoring, Logging, Static, Dynamic Code/Application/Container Scanning, Test Automation, A/B Testing, Blue/Green Deployment 
  • Infrastructure Automation Toolsets (Terraforrm, Ansible, ArgoCD, Github)
  • Software Practices / Compliance Programs 

Required Education:

Typically a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
