This position is remote. Otsuka maintains a hybrid work policy and travel is expected 10% of the time based on our needs.

Job Description

Associate Director, Data Science with expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical data analytics, and applications.

• Must have an excellent knowledge of advanced methods, and experience applying those methods to a variety of applications.
• Will grow in new directions, work with a team of scientists and practitioners from different departments in pharmaceuticals.
• Provide leadership guidance on data sciences programs.
• Establish and implement end to end proof of concept for data analyses across departments
• Create methodologies for data.
• Build proof of concept systems.
• Establish strategic partnerships with technical leadership across departments
• Present to senior leadership as well external audience
• Ability to create new and different solutions that align to work problems and opportunities.
• Proficiency in computer programming with excellent software development skills using state-of-the-art technologies and languages specifically R and Python

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5-6 years hands on experience in machine learning
• Master's Degree or PhD required in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with focus on data analysis
• Command of principles of machine learning, statistical analysis, data mining algorithms, and mathematical modeling
• Use knowledge of recent techniques, and develop new methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in Large Language Models
• Excellent software development skills, esp. in rapid prototyping
• Experience in GCP (VertexAI, Healthcare NLP, etc.)
• Experience in health care data analytics preferred with preference to nephrology and CNS

Minimum $160,530.00 - Maximum $240,005.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
