Associate Actuary, UM Analytics

 The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Establishes metrics, provides data analyses, and works directly to support business intelligence. Evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium and long-term financial and competitive position.

This position is in the Home organization at Humana. This Associate Actuary role provides an opportunity to work in a newer, growing area of the company. The role works with Medicare Advantage without being involved in bid season. They will partner closely with Utilization Management (UM) leadership to develop analytics for this area’s home health and skilled nursing facility (SNF) UM programs.

Typical responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Perform studies involving modeling financial impacts and making financial projections related to the UM program.
• Evaluate and continually monitor the overall performance of the UM program and explain the drivers of that performance.
• Identify opportunities where the UM program can improve by using analytics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
• 2 years minimum in the actuarial field (any specialty)

Preferred Qualifications

• Established communication skills
• Coding, worked with large sets of data or SQL experience
• Medicare/MA Experience

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

 

$104,800 - $144,300 per year

 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
