Job Description:

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking numerous candidates to fill multiple-level Appian Developer roles on a new contract to support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and their critical mission needs.

The FDA is the federal agency responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. The FDA is also responsible for advancing the public’s health by helping to speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective, safer, and more affordable, by helping the public acquire the accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and foods to improve their health.

As an Appian Developer involved in all phases of the development life cycle, you will participate in design sessions, both from custom code as well as architecture

HOW AN APPIAN DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Design and develop fully automated software delivery pipelines Efficiently collaborate within and across agile teams to maximize productivity.

  • Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and similarly engage in all agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, demos and retrospectives.

  • Eliminate road-blocks and hindrances preventing teams from delivering software.

  • Assist the team in documenting and leveraging cloud and DevOps best practices acceptance testing) cycles and performs testing with thoroughness and great attention to detail.

  • Collaborate with team members on all project related testing and help to develop team UI QA standards and communicate effectively across the organization to adhere to stringent timelines.

  • Ensure that QA processes and procedures for test environments are followed and that the integrity of the various environments is not compromised.

  • Review and provide feedback on test scripts.

  • Coordinate testing with additional team members as needed.

  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand the requirements and translate them into Appian designs.

  • Develop custom Appian solutions using Appian BPM software.

  • Integrate Appian applications with other systems and databases.

  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, and troubleshoot Appian applications.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for Appian applications.

  • Stay updated on the latest Appian features and functionalities to enhance the performance of applications.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.

  • 5+ years of Appian development experience, preferably within BPM

  • Appian Level 1 or 2 Certified.

  • Experience in Agile, Java, API's, Web Services, integrations.

  • Proficient with Appian BPM and complex SQL database structures.

  • Experience owning project backlog, schedule and ensuring project team delivers high quality work consistently and on time.

  • Experience with integrations with external systems.

  • Ability to scope Appian Projects.

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

  • Must be able to obtain a level 5 Public Trust, which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
