Account Manager, Investment Specialist

The Account Manager drives traditional product conversations, placements and servicing discussions across a broad client segment of professional buyers. As a subject matter expert in strategic relations, this job works with senior investment specialists to seek out co-product build opportunities working with sponsor firm and the organization's global product management team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Advises clients on the organization's prioritized products and capabilities in order to help clients realize investment goals.
Serves as the primary point of engagement with manager research and firm discretionary teams that have questions about the organization's products and services.
Identifies near term opportunities related to sponsor’s lineup of investment options.
Maintain existing recommended ratings, win new recommended ratings, and build impactful relationships with key decision makers. (added)
Builds and maintains strong partnerships with key decision makers including senior management across assigned list of clients.
Applies detailed product knowledge as well as thorough knowledge of client's business when providing clients advice.
Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level account managers.
Travel expected to be 20-50% or as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
•5+ years in a business development role for an asset manager or equivalent experience working in due diligence at an investment firm
Preferred:
• 7+ years of experience working with professional buyers (home office manager due diligence teams, consultant relations, RIAs)
• FINRA Series 7 & 63 (or combination of 63 & 65); can be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Bachelor's degree; CFA or CAIA also preferred
• A strong combination of sales and analytical skills
• Significant knowledge of the financial markets, both equity and fixed income, and the ability to articulate investment discipline with a deep understanding of the process and specific portfolios
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to profile clients
• Excellent planning, organization and time management skills; ability to analyze and prioritize large amounts of information
