Account Executive - Growing Maritime Technology Business (sales)

The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated sales professional with a strong hunter mentality, that will be determined to achieve agreed revenue goals. The role involves selling vessel tracking and compliance software to banks, and corporates in North America. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales, interpersonal and organizational skills, as this role is the most important link between us and our prospective customers. Candidates should be comfortable working with contacts from middle management up to CEO level in our target markets. Account Executives work collaboratively with our Subject Matter Experts within their territory to drive revenue (NNARR) through new subscriptions and upselling.
Responsibilities
- Delivering an annual sales quota of $500K in NNARR.
- Hosting introductory and discovery calls.
- Management of own pipeline of prospects from lead generation to paying customer.
- Responding to all inbound sales enquiries in a timely manner.
- Identification of new business opportunities in the territory.
- Systematic research to generate high value targets and identify key players.
- Engaging directly with decision makers.
- Maintaining accurate and complete customer records, activity records, KPIs and pipeline reports.
- Attending trade-conferences and industry events.
Requirements
- General working knowledge of the industries we sell to: Banking (Trade Finance and Ship Finance), Commodity trade, Oil & Gas trade, Maritime trade).
- Networking and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to speak confidently with C-Level and Senior Management contacts.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Desire and ability to exceed targets and supplement their pipeline with additional lead-generation activity.
- Existing senior management contacts in Banking, Oil & Gas and Commodity Trading will be beneficial.
