  • In this field-based, specialty sales position, the Zone Business Associate is responsible for the successful promotion of Sanofi-Genzyme’s Respiratory and Dermatology indications in territories where additional resources/share of voice is required.  Within a highly competitive marketplace, the ZBA will be called upon to successfully execute sales launch strategies to meet / exceed demand targets.

The ZBA will be responsible for covering a designated territory on a short-to medium term basis (e.g. period of weeks to months) where a business need for additional coverage has been identified (e.g. due to a vacancy or for other reasons).  Geographic flexibility is a must, as ZBAs will be expected to spend 4-5 days each week in the territory they are covering, which could be anywhere in the United States.

The ZBA role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to hone his or her sales skills in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.   ZBAs will have the opportunity to travel the country and work with various members of the Sanofi commercial organization.  The ZBA role will report to the Commercial Excellence Lead.

Job Responsibilities

  • Educate targeted healthcare providers on the benefits of product’s FDA-approved indications within assigned territory or territories.

  • Travel to assigned territory or territories during the assigned period of coverage for 4-5 days each week.

  • Develop and communicate deep scientific understanding of therapeutic areas and competitive products within the Dermatology and Respiratory marketplaces.

  • Cultivate and maintain long-term business relationships with key accounts and key opinion leaders within the Dermatology and Respiratory communities.

  • Develop and implement a territory specific business plan and utilize all available resources to foster a successful sales environment and deliver on business unit objectives.

  • Effectively convey complex clinical and reimbursement product information to key stakeholders in a highly competitive marketplace.

  • Execute a customer centric needs based selling approach with targeted Healthcare Providers.

  • Collaborate effectively with Thought Leader Liaisons, Area Business Managers, Business Relations Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers, Site Coordinators, Managed Markets, Medical Field and home office teams as required.

  • Conduct promotional programs.

  • Achieve and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

  • Attend local, regional and national meetings as directed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree Required, 2+ years of sales experience with proven results

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and scientific product-related information

  • Geographic flexibility—able to travel to any geography within the United States on a weekly basis for a period of weeks to months with little advance notice

  • Comfortable with change

  • Self-starter who can form relationships with new customers quickly

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must reside within Zone, and have the ability to travel extensively (upwards of 80% travel or more

​Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in life sciences or business preferred; MBA a plus

  • Pharmaceutical sales experience highly preferred with Dermatology, Respiratory or other specialty sales experience a plus

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work across multiple functions

  • Demonstrated leadership experience

The salary range for this position is $81,750.00 - 109,000.00. In addition to sales incentive (role may my eligible for long term incentive depending on level and performance); all compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.​

Candidates must complete all fleet safety training and must maintain an acceptable driving record regarding accidents and incidents.
