About the Role: The Senior Manager of the Youth Empowerment Program (Program Officer) of The Allstate Foundation will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive national strategy to empower youth to serve and improve their communities. Reporting to the Director of The Allstate Foundation, this position will oversee a budget of approximately $10 million annually, managing a grantmaking portfolio focused on youth-led community service.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive national strategy to empower youth to serve and improve communities, aligning with the Foundation's long-term social impact goals. 

  • Grantmaking: Oversee a grantmaking portfolio of approximately $10 million annually, ensuring effective development, execution, and continuous improvement of the portfolio. 

  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations and individuals critical to the Foundation's youth empowerment objectives, strengthening the Foundation’s position as a leader in the field. 

  • Internal Collaboration: Work across departments to integrate youth empowerment initiatives into existing structures and resources, activating employees and building pride in the Foundation's efforts. 

  • Innovation: Develop and execute bold and innovative plans that leverage Allstate's assets (e.g., people, brand, capital, expertise) to produce results. 

  • Thought Leadership and Advocacy: Alongside other Foundation leaders, participate in opportunities to increase The Allstate Foundation’s visibility and enhance its reputation and thought leadership position through speaking opportunities, content publication and dialogue with key stakeholders. 

  • Supervision: Manages the Youth Empowerment Program Administrator. Also, collaborates with and provides subject-matter expertise to shared services and supports across the team and the department.  
     

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This job has supervisory duties.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in youth development, community service, or a related field. 

  • Experience working with youth-led and youth-serving organizations and youth from underserved communities. 

  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing youth in today's society. 

  • Lived and learned expertise in and proximity to the fields of youth-led community service, youth and student development, and civic engagement. 

  • Self-directed and results-oriented with a proven ability to anticipate needs, develop efficient processes, and strategic plan and design effective strategies to achieve goals.   

  • Skilled at navigating diverse contexts and identifying or creating optimal solutions aligned with strategic objectives.   

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of teams while managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring successful execution within deadlines. 

  • Proven experience building and managing strong relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.   

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at representing organizations effectively to key stakeholders.   

  • Highly adaptable and thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities, partner requests, and new challenges.   

  • Willingness and ability to travel for program participation, events, and other activities   

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) for efficient data management, communication, and presentations.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $112,000.00 - 196,750.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
