Summary of Job Duties:
This position serves as the Workday/Anaplan Budget and Planning Lead on the Finance/Procurement Workday Support Services team. Reporting to the Finance/Procurement Lead, the Workday/Anaplan Budget and Planning Lead will provide overall leadership and subject matter expertise in the implementation and sustainment of the Budgeting and Planning processes related to financial and position budgets.The Workday/Anaplan Budget and Planning Lead will coordinate and participate in System design workshops, assist in the enhancement/innovation of business process and core budgeting and planning configuration, assess change impacts, change readiness and support institutions.
This position will assess Workday Finance/HCM and Anaplan Planning modules for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record budget transactions; confer with UA system officials about budgeting and planning matters; complete knowledge transfer with campuses on how to utilize Anaplan Budget Planning and Management software, how to report on budget versus actuals across different organizational levels and modules, and provide support to campuses with general questions and troubleshooting.
This position will support campuses with access to accurate reports to monitor accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences; maintain foundational data model for financial transactions; develop tools to enable campuses to analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
This position will conduct pre-implementation quality assurance testing to determine if enhancements and programs under development will work as planned; support campuses with the development/maintenance of reports to enable them to develop, maintain, or analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs; support campuses with the development/maintenance of reports and/or planning tools to enable them to prepare, analyze, or verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
This position will serve as liaison for Core Finance Team to support and enable campuses with operational efficiencies and recommend changes in operations and financial activities; examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity; assess and coordinate with Core FIN Lead to update financial reports to ensure campuses can accurately report on their accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports.
This position will stay current with Federal and State laws, regulations (including but not limited to GASB and GAAP compliance), and management policies in order to support campuses during business operations, short-term and long-term planning, and other financial activities.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
The educational equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
3+ years of experience deploying or using Workday or other comparable financial/budgeting systems
Experience working with Budget Management in higher education
Ability to work remotely
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher in Accounting or equivalent experience in accounting
Proficient in multiple financial domains such as procurement, budgets, accounts receivable, etc.
Significant experience assessing, revising, implementing and supporting business processes related to finance
Experience with change management related to large enterprise system deployments
