ABOUT THE JOB

The Workday Systems Administrator at Marathon Health plays a key role in managing, optimizing, and supporting our Workday HRIS system. This position is responsible for assessing, implementing, developing, and maintaining the platform to meet organizational needs. Collaborating closely with teams including People Operations, Finance/Accounting, Payroll, Recruiting, and Information Technology, the Workday Systems Administrator will provide technical expertise, user support, and strategic guidance. The goal is to ensure seamless system functionality, efficient management and reporting capabilities, and an enhanced Workday experience for Marathon Health staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee operations and maintenance of Workday to support stakeholders and various system modules.
  • Ensure the system is configured to meet organizational needs and comply with data governance standards.
  • Monitor system performance, research and troubleshoot issues, implement patches as needed.  
  • Provide subject matter expertise around optimization and streamlining Workday.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users.
  • Ensure security and integrity within the system. Serve as primary security manager.
  • Perform regular audits on system roles and access logins to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with functional SMEs to configure and customize business processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to design and implement system modules based on organizational needs (e.g., performance management, recruitment, benefits).
  • Help to develop training materials and sessions to help staff use the system effectively.
  • Act as point of contact for Workday account management team on a periodical basis.
  • Work closely with Workday implementation team during new implementations and expansion projects.
  • Oversee system upgrades and new feature releases.
  • Assist with the testing and set-up of core Finance, Payroll and HCM systems for any new mergers and acquisitions.
  • Review business procedures/workflows to ensure system features are being fully utilized and identify Workday features that may improve efficiency
  • Work closely with HR, payroll, finance, IT, and external vendors to address system needs and challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, computer science, business administration or a related field and or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Additional skills/qualifications as follows:

  • 5 years’ experience in Workday required
  • Workday HCM certification (preferred)
  • Workday expertise with the following modules: HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, Time, Comp, Leave, Absence, Finance
  • Experience in interpreting business needs and transferring it into system configurations
  • Experience with developing procedure documentation and user guides

Pay Range: $90,000 - $120,000/yr

The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate’s years of experience and/or skill level.
