Workday Senior Manager - Benefits, Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking (REMOTE)

GEICO is seeking an experienced Workday Senior Manager to join our People Technology organization. In this role you will manage a team of Engineers within the Benefits, Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking modules that specialize in building and maintaining HR systems ensuring all digital assets operate in a highly reliable, responsive and efficient way.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and organizational leadership for a team of Engineers who design, test, deploy and maintain the HR systems built to support GEICO’s needs and strategy (Configuration of Workday Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking)

  • Champion the implementation of engineering quality to include unit testing, automation testing, security testing, among others

  • Present a vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of technology fluency

  • Work closely with the GEICO People Team to manage, innovate, and create new programs, direction and analytics that balance and improve the associate experience

  • Build and nurture a high-performing technology team, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to foster a culture of continuous learning and DevOps mindset

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in a technology leadership role supporting HR Systems teams

  • Deep knowledge of HR systems methodologies, and principles, experience with HR tools that connect with Workday is a plus

  • Outstanding leadership and team management skills with a passion for mentoring and fostering professional growth

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving operational efficiency and automation

Experience

  • 6+ years of software architecture, design and development experience with HR Systems (ideally Workday)

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership of development teams (may be concurrent with development experience above).

  • 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment

  • 2+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary

$125,000.00 - $300,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
