Schedule:

Mostly weekends, especially Saturdays, and some weeknights, generally between 1 PM - 1 AM.

Qualifications:

Ability to stand, bend, stay on your feet for up to 4 hours, and lift 25 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Applicants need strong "people" skills and are sometimes required to work late into the evening and early morning hours, especially on weekends (most notably, Saturday nights). Applicants should be able to remain calm under stress while maintaining a cheerful demeanor among guests. Applicants should possess a basic understanding of setting up tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping, emptying trash, and an appreciation for teamwork.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This position will assist the WHS HQ Event Coordinator in the setup, operation, and teardown of events at the Wisconsin Historical Society located on the UW-Madison Library Mall.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 25 pounds, stand for up to 4 hours at a time, bend, roll tables, and have the stamina to work outdoors during the summer and fall months.
