Windows Engineer (Mostly Remote)

Salary: $145,000 - 155,00/yearThis position allows for 4 days per week remote / work from home, and 1 on site. As a Windows Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Windows Server infrastructure. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in VMware and Nutanix to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of our virtualized and hyper-converged environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support our IT initiatives and drive improvements in our technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Windows Server Management:
• Administer and support Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• VMware Administration:
• Manage and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines.
• Optimize VM performance, storage, and network configurations.
• Implement and manage VMware HA, DRS, and other advanced features.
• Nutanix Administration:
• Oversee and support Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) environments.
• Configure and manage Nutanix clusters, including storage, compute, and network resources.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues related to Nutanix infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Optimization:
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of our IT infrastructure.
• Implement best practices for virtualization and storage management.
• Participate in capacity planning and resource forecasting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Windows Server Administrator or Engineer.
• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Nutanix HCI solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security principles.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
