Position Summary
Acuren and its affiliate entities are a leading provider of wind turbine rotor blade inspection, repair, and other services in North America. Combined with the use of rope access technology and inspection expertise, we provide a comprehensive inspection and repair solution for the wind industry.
Position Details:
Acuren Wind Canada Inc. is recruiting for 6 experienced traveling Wind Turbine Blade Technician III to support projects in Canada. Work will be commencing in Spring 2025.
Work Location: Based out of Goderich, Ontario (220 Huckins Rd Unit #2, Goderich, ON N7A 3X8) with travel required to project sites in:

Start date: Work commencing in Spring 2025
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Wage: Hourly wage rate of $38.00 to $55.00 CDN depending on experience and relevant technical qualifications, straight time. Overtime of 1.5X is payable as per applicable provincial employment standards. Additional bonuses and premiums are payable for evening or night. Eligible for wage increases and bonuses at company’s discretion in accordance with company policy.
Vacation: Vacation pay will be paid at a rate of 4% of regular earnings, in accordance with provincial employment standards.
Statutory Holidays: In compliance with provincial employment standards.

- Emergency medical coverage will be provided if required until the 90 days period is met, or a provincial health card is obtained.
- RRSP contributions are matched up to company plan limits following 6 months of continuous employment.
- Per diem, accommodations, transportation/flights are provided when working away from the base of operations.
- Relocation support may be provided with the submission of receipts for successful candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Report on structural, component or system failures
- Repair and maintain equipment
- Trimming and sanding plastic or fiverglass parts
- Lead structural internal and external fiberglass repairs, ensuring repairs are completed to company quality standards.
- Direct team(s) with a safety-first approach and document repair and inspection findings.
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Interpret Work Instructions and Reference material related to repairs and materials.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Work at heights more than 300 feet via rope access or suspended platform, in confined spaces and for extended periods of time in remote locations in variable climates and environments.
- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
- Be able to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge required of Rope Access Technicians
- Ensure operational safety of all equipment.
- May instruct and supervise others.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of wind industry experience.
- Minimum 3 year of experience in blade inspection and repair work.
- High School Diploma. Preference will be given to candidates with a Technician Wind certification and experienced with a wide variety of turbine platforms and blade types.
- A valid drivers' license is required.
- Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and CPR certifications are an asset.
- IRATA Level III or SPRAT Level III Certification; GWO Certification would be an asset.
- Adaptable to travel and productively work in remote locations across Canada for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
- Dexterity to traverse rough/slippery terrain on heavy construction sites.
- Physical and emotional capability to ascend to considerable heights (100m/330ft) by vertical ladder, suspended platform, boom truck, lifts or utilizing rope access technology, multiple times per day, while carrying up to 15kgs/30lbs of additional weight.
- Physical capability to bend, kneel, climb, and squat with full range of motion and for prolonged periods of time.
- Comfortable with working in a confined space.
- Demonstrated effective hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Capability to lift to 25kgs/50lbs unassisted (on occasion up to 35kgs/75lbs).
- Familiarity and comfort in the operation of mechanized hand tools.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
- Ability to work productively in a variety of adverse conditions.
- Physical and psychological fitness, with the ability to successfully submit to drug and alcohol testing on a random schedule.
- Ability to comply with Acuren and/or client-required pandemic policies prior to employment and continued compliance with adaptive Acuren and/ or client pandemic policies.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English is required – French is an asset.
