Job Summary:

The WIDA Proposal and Grant Specialist position is located within the Administration and Operations department and will report to the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development. This position will be responsible for managing and executing all elements of the proposal development process, including crafting, authoring, and editing high-quality proposals such as RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness. The role also involves assisting in the development of grant applications, proofreading proposals for consistency, and preparing materials for presentations.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and updating a repository of documents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align proposals with organizational strategies, and managing the proposal team to meet deadlines. The position also entails tracking and analyzing RFPs and performance data to recommend strategic adjustments, conducting research to identify new funding opportunities, and ensuring proposal quality and compliance.

The Proposal and Grant Specialist will work closely with the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development to develop proposal strategies, support business development, and implement process improvements. This role is integral to enhancing proposal effectiveness and supporting the overall success of the business development efforts.

Working fully remote is an option for this position within the United States (working remotely internationally is not an option). Responsibilities:

Produces content in support of the goals, mission, and vision of the designated work unit.
  • 40% Authors a range of materials for use by internal and/or external audiences
  • 20% Consults with internal and/or external stakeholders to ensure accuracy
  • 10% Obtains source approval of content and meets publication deadlines
  • 10% Creates and implements communication campaigns that align with work unit or program strategies
  • 10% Ensures proposal quality assurance and compliance
  • 5% Supports business development and process improvement
  • 5% Supports capture and proposal coordination

Qualifications:

Required:
- Minimum of 2 years experience crafting high-quality, persuasive and compliant proposals in response to RFPs
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills in a context where attention to detail is required
- Experience managing multiple projects and overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience leading project communications
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams that include multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
- Experience in managing and maintaining documentation
- Experience in analyzing, evaluating and enhancing written proposals, including assessing competing proposals and recommending strategic improvements for future submissions

Preferred:
- Experience in developing grant proposals or applications
- Background in educational assessment or related field, including experience in developing assessment-related proposals or grants

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.
